Los Angeles, CA (November 1, 2010) – The Legend of Phoenix Mountain, a debut novel written by Asian American author tinabot, will be published on November 1, 2010 by Ninja Pueblo Publishing. This young adult novel explores the experience of a new generation of Asian American youth through an accessible, action-packed, kung-fu-filled adventure in a fantasy world inspired by Asian mythology and philosophy presented with an American attitude.

Tinabot is a writer and educator. Her debut novel The Legend of Phoenix Mountain is a teenage American kung fu romance inspired by eastern philosophy, Asian mythology, video games, anime, and martial arts movies. She has written for Asian Week as a columnist. She received her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College, her M.A. from Claremont Graduate University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. She has taught as a public school teacher and college professor and currently runs her own authentic literacy development clinic, The Literacy Guild LLC. Aside from reading and writing, she enjoys watching movies, supporting local musicians, swimming, karaoke, and martial arts..
Ninja Pueblo was founded in 2010 by a group of Los Angeles based artists looking to publish and promote their original works through collaborative efforts and events. "Ninja" is for warrior. "Pueblo" is for community. The two words come together to express a desire to make a difference in the world through creative expression. These words also represent the rich and diverse environment of Southern California that continues to inspire the world.
